null TE-services for Ukrainian citizens in Central Finland

People fleeing from Ukraine can apply for temporary protection when arriving to Finland. The process of getting the residence permit is faster than when applying for asylum. The residence permit allows working and studying and receiving service for employment and entrepreneurship.

During recent weeks there has been several groups of Ukrainian citizens coming also to Central Finland. The process starts with applying temporary protection in the police and getting the services in the reception centre. After receiving the permit, it is possible to find work independently or register as a jobseeker at the TE Office and receive employment services.

TE-services for those coming from Ukraine

The TE-office draws up an integration plan with the client. The plan includes the education and work history, competences and the service needs and career goals of the client. Finnish language is included in the integration process, and it can be studied on the spot, online and in the workplace. In addition, the client can benefit from job mediation, competence mapping, the evaluation of entrepreneur skills, career guidance, workforce training and work trial or work with pay subsidy.

Finland offers versatile work opportunities

Those coming from Ukraine to Finland have relatively high level of education and many of them have language skills in English and Russia. Several enterprises in Central Finland have expressed interest in hiring Ukrainian workforce. In Finland there are job opportunities especially in information technologies, social and welfare services, construction, hotel and catering, industry and cleaning and real estate services. Seasonal work is also one possibility.

The services are provided together with the reception centre and the municipalities

The TE-office of Central Finland will be providing employment services together with the reception centre of Jyväskylä, the immigration centre of Jyväskylä and the employment trial of Jyväskylä. We will inform about this together with Jyväskylä soon. Cooperation in the other areas of Central Finland will be agreed on together with the municipalities because the municipalities have a central role together with reception centres in helping Ukrainians to integrate.

Enquiring the enterprises about the effects of the war

The TE-office of Central Finland will be carrying out an enquire on enterprises to find out the effects of the war on the costs, on the availability of inputs and raw materials, on the sales and markets and on the personnel. At the time we will ask the enterprises their interest to hire Ukrainian immigrants. This information will be used for the benefit of the Ukrainians in job mediation.
