Orientation Training for New Immigrants with the Possibility of Fast Employment

Helsinki 9.4.2018 – 7.5.2018

The training is intended for new TE Office customers. Participants should have a strong command of English and should not have previously participated in the TE Office integration training. The training will be held in English.

The training is for those who:

• Are new in Finland (residence up to 6 months)
• Are seeking for a job
• Are new to the country and have signed up for TE Services
• Don’t know Finnish
• Have excellent English skills

Schedule

Orientation training will be held from 9th April 2018 to 7th May 2018. Studying on weekdays from 9 to 14.00. The training focuses on active job seeking. The duration of the training is 20 days. After the training, you can have job seeking support via the internet for 3 months. You can also attend small tutorial group meetings, attendance is voluntary.

Training facilities will be confirmed later.

Goal?

The aim of the training is to find employment in the open labour market, to encourage integration and to learn the basics of the Finnish language. Another aim is that the participants have a clear picture of the integration services, their rights, and the means and opportunities for independent integration.

In the training you will learn about:

• Finnish society and services
• Finnish job market and workplace culture
• Where to find work
• Applying for jobs the Finnish way
• Finnish language and how to further your studies
• Where to meet Finns and how to feel at home in Finland

The training focuses on, among other things, job seeking and creating quality job applications. In addition to this, it will go through Finnish labour legislations, standards and self-integration opportunities in the labour market. Training also includes Finnish language training.
