Job Path Coaching

Coaching is currently conducted remotely.

Job Path Coaching is designed to maximise your job-hunting skills and ensure your success on the job market. The course consists of one-to-one coaching and group sessions with your peers.

After the course,

  • you will know how to market your skills and what kinds of jobs to apply for,
  • you will have an up-to-date CV and a job application template,
  • you will be familiar with different job search channels and online application processes, and
  • you will know how to perform well in a job interview.

The course begins with five (5) days of group sessions run between approximately 9.00 am and 3.00 pm from Monday to Friday.

Coaching continues for three more months after the group sessions. You will get at least three hours of coaching each month, either in the form of one-to-one sessions or group-based activities such as workshops. In addition to an experienced coach, you will also have the support of a recruitment expert and an expert in educational services.

You may be entitled to unemployment benefits while you are on the course.

The coaching service is provided by an independent partner of your local TE Office. Job Path Coaching courses are run in Uusimaa as follows:

Career Path Coaching

Career Path Coaching is designed to help you to identify your strengths and find a new direction for your career or even a new profession altogether. The course consists of one-to-one coaching and group sessions with your peers.

After the course,

  • you will know what kinds of jobs to apply for and what to take into consideration when looking for a job,
  • you will know how to communicate and market your skills,
  • you will understand your weaknesses and know how to look for training opportunities and apply for courses,
  • you will have an up-to-date CV and a job application template,
  • you will be familiar with different job search channels and methods, and
  • you will know how to perform well in a job interview.

The course begins with fifteen (15) days of group sessions run between approximately 9.00 am and 3.00 pm from Monday to Friday.

Coaching continues for three more months after the group sessions. You will get at least three hours of coaching each month, either in the form of one-to-one sessions or group-based activities such as workshops. In addition to an experienced coach, you will also have access to a recruitment expert and an expert in educational services.

Career Path Coaching in plain Finnish

Coaching is currently conducted remotely. When things return to normal, sessions will be held in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa.

You will learn about different kinds of jobs and schools. Your coach will communicate with you in plain Finnish. He or she will help you to identify your strengths and a career that suits you. You will learn how to look for a job or enrol on a training course.

The course begins with group sessions. Group sessions will run between approximately 9.00 am and 3.00 pm from Monday to Friday for 25 days.

After the group stage, coaching will continue for approximately three months. You will get approximately three hours of coaching each month. In addition to an experienced coach, you will also have the support of a recruitment expert, an expert in educational services and a Finnish language tutor.

After the course,

  • you will know what kinds of jobs to apply for,
  • you will be able to write a good job application in Finnish,
  • you will understand your weaknesses and know how to apply for training courses, and
  • you will know how to use a computer to apply for jobs online.

There is no course fee. You may be entitled to unemployment benefits while you are on the course.

This course could be a good option after you have reached at least level A2.2 in your Finnish language lessons. You will need to understand slow-paced spoken Finnish and be able to speak and write simple Finnish yourself.

Youth Coaching

Youth Coaching is a career counselling service for the under-30s that can help you to find a job, an internship or a place to study. The objectives are chosen according to your personal circumstances, and the goal is to find a solution that is the right one for you.

You will learn about different job search channels and maximise your job-hunting skills. Your coach will help you to identify the options that suit your situation. You will be given practical tools to help you to look for a job or a place to study and to plan the direction of your career.

You will have at least 12 hours of one-to-one sessions with your coach over a five-to-six-month period. The sessions can be fitted around your schedule. You can ask to do your sessions remotely or choose a convenient location to meet with your coach face to face.

You do not need to be unemployed to take advantage of the service. The service is provided free of charge.

If you would like to enrol, talk to your case worker. The registration process can take up to 10 days.
