The WorkDesign – identify, design and employ project

is part of the work ability programme implemented under the leadership of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the aim of which is to increase the participation of persons with partial work ability in the labour market.

Work ability programme – online services of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland (tem.fi).

The WorkDesign – identify, design and employ project includes flexible and comprehensive WorkDesign job coaching for those with partial work ability. The aim to find employment for people with partial work ability. This coaching focuses on identifying personal competence and finding employment. If necessary, the work is shaped in cooperation with the person and employer to make it suitable for them both.

The target group of the service consists of customers of Uusimaa TE Office and the Local government trials on employment, including working-aged people with partial work ability, who need personal and intensive support and coaching even in the longer term to achieve or establish their employment goals.

A person with partial ability to work refers to people who have a part of their work ability and a desire to use this ability (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health). The person may have a history of partial work ability, which may have affected their unemployment. It is important to find work that matches the person’s ability to work. This may sometimes require work customisation and possibly cooperation with the customer’s healthcare provider.
